HAVING FUN WHAT ELSE?

Yep! We’re having fun with the same friends and co-workers we began business with some 35 years ago. Frogtown Records, an independent recording & production company, has just recorded two new songs performed by Barry McGuire… “Mr. Hakk N’ Koff” and “I Pledge Allegiance” as well as created a full length anti smoking cartoon entitled, Mr. HAKK N’ KOFF. Another artist on our Frogtown roster is Diamond Doug Brookins. He recently recorded his own composition, “Here in Our Time”, a tribute to John Lennon and Yoko Ono. This song will appear on his upcoming CD, “Legends, Lies, and Other Love Songs”, for Frogtown Records.

In, 1971, true to the American spirit, two friends, one a grandmother of 63 and the other, a young man of 26, pooled their combined savings of five thousand dollars and renovated an old chicken coop, located in a small suburb of south Jersey and began their business with 7 other friends, ranging in age from 23 to 25 years. From those humble digs, we became a leading manufacturer of leather novelties and advertising specialties. In 1978, when casinos came to Atlantic City, within 2 years, our reputation grew as the premier supplier of gifts and promotional items to all nine casinos. Steve Wynn’s Golden Nugget provided us with the select opportunity to sharpen our corporate expertise in the development of sophisticated promotions. Although Wynn’s Golden Nugget was the smallest of all the gaming properties, it was consistently the highest grossing casino in Atlantic City. The honor was ours to be invited to participate and contribute in the growth of The Golden Nugget, Caesars, Tropicana, Harrahs, Ballys, Claridge, Sands, Resorts and Trump Plaza. By 2006, we were supplying over 350 casinos worldwide.

In 1989, we began supplying Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds with On-Pac promotions for such brands as Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Salem, Camel and Winston. The irony of designing product advertising like Key Rings, Belt Buckles, and other promotional items for the Big Tobacco Companies was, that at the entrance to our building there was a huge sign which read, “NO SMOKING” over a picture of a camel in a hospital bed with a thermometer in his mouth, saying… “These cigarettes are killing me!” This was a bold move for a group of non-smokers doing business with Big Tobacco as this type thinking, at that juncture, was politically incorrect!

Our commitment now is to push forward, through our cartoons, songs and greeting cards, the fact that smoking is disastrous to mental and physical health and overall well-being. As a matter of fact, our graphics department created a new entrance sign, which now reads…

over a picture of a camel wearing a sombrero, drinking a soda, resting in a lounge chair and looking out over the ocean saying, “Man it’s awesome to be Smoke Free & Healthy!”

In addition, we supplied merchandise to an impressive list of corporate clients such as Crown Royal, Paddington Liquors, Goldschlagger, Merrill Lynch, General Motors, Cadillac, Buick and the U.S. Military.

In 2000, we continued expanding our areas of expertise by developing full lines of unique merchandise, which continues to sell to Mass Merchants. We are vendored with K-Mart, Eckerd Drugs, Brooks Pharmacy, Wal-Mart and Sears to name but a few.
